A Year in the Life of the Royal Albert Hall

A Year in the Life of the Royal Albert Hall – NOW ON!

23rd April – 7th June 2011

A Year in the Life of the Royal Albert Hall is the culmination of a year-long partnership between the Royal Watercolour Society and the Royal Albert Hall. This special exhibition sees the coming-together of these two royal institutions, where for the first time, Members of the Royal Watercolour Society have been studying in the iconic building for a year, working backstage and behind the scenes of the working venue and capturing events and their audiences.

The result, a collection of large watercolours, line the ground floor corridor, telling the fascinating story of a year in the life of the Hall; from its many and various performances, to its staff, restaurants, and even the boiler room in the depths of the building!

The exhibition takes place along the ground floor corridor of the Royal Albert Hall from Saturday 23rd April – Tuesday 7th June.

You can view the exhibition when attending a performance or by visiting on one of the following free open days, when Members of the Royal Watercolour Society will be present to discuss their work and their experience of painting at the Royal Albert Hall:

Saturday 23rd April, 11am – 3pm
